14-year-Old Calderon Wins U21 Tournament In Barbados

De’Andre Calderon won at the Scouters Under-21 Open Table Tennis Singles competition in Barbados last weekend. Calderon is 14.
In the preliminaries, Calderon won all four matches. In the quarterfinals he beat Tre Riley 11-5, 11-1, 11-6. In the semifinals he beat Jarad Sandiford 11-5, 11-6, 11-8, 11-1.
In the finals Calderon lost the first game 7-11 to Marcus Smith, but he rallied to win the next four, 13-11, 11-7, 11-9, 11-4.
Calderon now awaits the Saint Lucia Senior National Table Tennis Championships which begins on the 14th September.

  2. Please, Please, Please! Let this one not perish in some accident.
    It is very common for boys who are in the limelight to find themselves in accidents. They become drunken with the attention and feel invisible and perish way too young. Parents love him well and keep him humble and from trouble. We need him to continue making St Lucia proud for a very long time!

    • he attends castries comprehensive secondary….i taught him at grande riviere primary…nice young humble boy….i am really proud to read this about him… ticked i was thinking the very same thing…i pray that God protects him from all evil and harm…..i dont know but its just something about this place that just keeps grabbing out talented young people…
