Driver Unresponsive After Odsan Crash

A taxi driver was unresponsive after his vehicle crashed into a concrete wall at Odsan on Tuesday.

An emergency crew from the Babonneau Fire Station responded after learning of the incident at about 9:41 pm.

The responders placed the patient on a spine board, commenced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and transported him to the OKEU Hospital.

However, his condition was unchanged at the time.

  1. At 9:41 p.m. I doubt he had fallen asleep at the wheel. Did he pass out due to a medical condition? Or God forbid, was he intoxicated? But how would they rule out the latter? With all these road accidents on the island no ambulance is equipped with a breatherlyser so the first responders can test the blood alcohol level of drivers. However there are rum shops at every corner on the island, from town to countryside.

  2. THat’s how you people who are supposed to be professional are in St. Lucia. It’s not nonsense. So I guess it is the job of the police. But obviously somebody isn’t doing their job and no one cares, Because people are dying all the time on these roads and no one is being charged for drunk driving. The police vehicles are also sometimes parked by the rum shops. So there.
