Pierre Urges Citizens To Obey The Laws, Cooperate With Police

Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has called on citizens to play their role in the country’s security.

“As citizens, let us play our part in citizen security by obeying the laws and cooperating with the police,” Pierre, who is responsible for National Security, wrote on his Facebook page.

His remarks came amid a sharp surge in deadly gun violence.

Last week, Pierre attended a ceremony where the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) received three new vehicles.

The donation added to about forty vehicles the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) administration has provided since assuming office in 2021.

Pierre said the vehicles and training of over seventy recruits aimed to enhance police presence and patrols across the island.

He explained that he would continue demonstrating support for the police by providing the necessary training and resources to carry out their duties.

” Operational matters will continue to be undertaken by the Commissioner of Police and his team,” the Prime Minister stated, adding that he had “utmost confidence” in them.

  1. Mr prime minister!!!
Because you gave three vehicles to the police department we should obey the police.. Breaking news we obey the police but we don’t have FAITH IN THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR NATIONAL SECURITY HE SUCKS AT HIS JOB… HE should give the job to someone who knows exactly what they’re doing otherwise st lucia is doomed

  2. Sir, with all due respect, how do you expect us to cooperate with such group of corrupt individuals. Crime rate is up because most citizens are taking matters into their own hands.

  3. PIERRE
YOU SHOULD LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND TAKE YOUR OWN ADVICE OBEY THE POLICE OFFICES GIVE THE POLICE WHAT THEY NEED A COMPETENT NATIONAL SECURITY PERSON WITH KNOWLEDGE

  4. All police departments around the world have some form of corruption or the other.

Does that mean all of the officers are corrupt. Clearly not.

Why would you not want to corporate with the same Police force whose job is to protect and keep you safe ?

Why would you want to hide and protect the same criminals that want to rob and hurt you ?

People can be strange at times eh …

The PM message is a positive one. I wish people would take heed. It would help… Not solve … But help in our current crime surge. It would be the spark that we would need.
