St Mary’s Bounce Back with Dominant 247-Run Victory

St Mary’s College (SMC) delivered a commanding performance on Tuesday, thumping the Saint Lucia TVET Institute: Stanley Jon Odlum School (SJOS) of Arts, Media & Design by 247 runs in the Ministry of Youth Development & Sports Under-15 Boys’ 40-Overs Cricket Tournament. The emphatic win at Balata Playing Field marked a strong return to form after SMC’s loss to Saint Lucia Sports Academy the previous day.

With this victory, the Samarians have now secured three wins in their four matches, reinforcing their position as strong contenders in the tournament. Their dominant display against SJOS TVET Institute showcased both batting prowess and bowling discipline, leaving little room for the opposition to recover.

Batting first, SMCA made 260-4, with national Under-15 player Jean Claude Emmanuel hitting a brisk unbeaten 106, inclusive of 11 sixes and eight fours. It was his second time getting to three figures in four matches. Kai Alexander hit 33, Delaun Clifford 35, and Kyan Seriux 22. Emary Mathurin took 2-20 for SJOS TVET, with Jordan Charles capturing 1-72 and Jamaica D’Anthony 1-55.

In response, SJOS TVET were all out for just 13, lasting only seven overs. Aiden Mitchell bowled four of those overs and grabbed a tremendous haul of 7-10. He bowled two maidens. In three overs, fellow right-arm medium pacer Emmanuel got 3-3. John Marrow made six runs, but the hapless batters of SJOS TVET recorded six ducks.

Also on Tuesday, Corinth Secondary School demolished Sir Ira Simmons Secondary School by nine wickets at Gros Islet. SISSS were bowled out for 27 in 13.1 overs with Nicken Justin taking 3-4, Daniel Lorde 3-6 and Andrus Paul 3-14. Corinth got to 29-1 in two overs, Daniel Lorde scoring 11 not out.

On Monday, Choiseul Secondary School beat Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School by 127 runs at the Piaye Playing Field. Choiseul made 207-3, Sherkeem George 46, Kerlan Daniel 45 not out, and Samuel Jean 37. VFCSS was dismissed for 80 with Liam Charlegmane making 26. Jayshan Alexander took 3-3.

At Balata, SLSA won by 43 runs over SMC. SLSA made 118-7 in 36 overs with Trevern Edwards making 37 and Troy Prospare 29 not out, and Aiden Mitchell taking 2-10, Delaun Clifford 2-17, and Aiden Medar 2-22. SMC were dismissed for 75 in 23.5 overs Jean-Claude Emmanuel 24, Trevern Edwards 3-13, Kyle Stephens 3-31 and Evan Gilbert 2-18.

Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School won by default over Sir Ira Simmons Secondary School.
