Castries, September 15, 2015; A debate targeting students of business and economics, as well as tertiary institutions slated for Wednesday September 16, sets out to achieve some of the stated objectives of Business Month 2015, namely to generate discussion on Entrepreneurship in Saint Lucia, highlight the involvement of women and youth in business and to shed light on the support path of business development. The National Youth Council and Monroe College will debate on the theme “The Sir Arthur Lewis Economic Model could Revive Saint Lucia’s Economy, if implemented”.
The Grace Augustin Conference Room at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College has been selected as a fitting backdrop for the event, which will be hosted by Mr. Mac Donald Dixon, Retired Trade Consultant and Writer. The event will commence at 5:45 p.m. and will be recorded for subsequent broadcast by the National Television Network.
The Ministry of Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs in collaboration with its Affiliate Agencies has designated September as Business Month under the theme, “Economic Growth through Business Support – with a focus on Youth and Women.” In keeping with the Ministry’s mandate to promote and foster business development as part of our economy’s growth strategy, the Ministry has developed a series of activities in observance of Business Month aimed at sensitizing the general public on the core functions and services of the Ministry and its Affiliate Agencies.
