It would seem one of the unlikeliest places for a fight to break out, but a Goodlands resident told the Times that is exactly what happened during a service at a Seventh Day Adventist, (SDA), church at Cul de Sac on September 2, 2015.
The woman, who preferred not to be identified, said two young men began whispering insults at her 15 year old daughter, calling her a “slut” because of the earrings the young woman was wearing.
She disclosed that a scuffle ensued in which her daughter punched one of the youngsters.
The fracas is reported to have continued in a bus as they left for home when a relative of the two young men attacked the mother, who told the Times that she stabbed her assailant with a plastic fork.
The mother said she was hit below the knee with a stone.
She related that since the incident, the two young men who were involved in the incident with her daughter have threatened to take the lives of the teenager and her.
She disclosed that the two have been seen lurking near the bus stop where the child goes to get transportation to and from school, with the result that the teenager’s school attendance at the institution is being affected.
A formal complaint has been lodged with the police who are investigating.
