For the weekend commencing Friday, 18th September and ending Sunday, 20th September 2015 the Saint Lucia Fire Service responded to 46 ambulance calls in the north and 28 in the south.
On Friday, 18th September, 2015 at 8:35 a.m. the Fire Station responded to a motor vehicle accident near the Castries market round about. A female pedestrian was hit by a car. She was transported to Hospital nursing minor injuries.
On Saturday, 19th September, 2015 at 4:40 p.m. the Castries Fire Station responded to a motor vehicle accident at Bexon. On arrival at the scene, one male individual was transported to hospital nursing minor injuries. Later that Saturday at 5:26 p.m. the Castries Fire Station responded to a stabbing at Roseau, Qtr of Anse La Raye. A male individual was discovered with multiple stab wounds about his body, he was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor. At 11:43 p.m. officers from the Dennery Fire Station responded to a motor vehicle accident at Fond D’or, Dennery. The accident involved a minibus and a motorcycle with two riders who were both injured. One rider was thrown under the minibus due ti the impact and had to be extricated from the vehicle. There were obvious signs of death. The other individual was administered care by the ambulance personnel then transported to the hospital nursing minor injuries.
On Sunday, 20th September, 2015 at 10:11 a.m. officers from the Castries Fire Station responded to a motor vehicle accident at Vide Bouteille, Castries. The accident was between a car and an SUV. As a result, two individuals were administered care by ambulance personnel. One nursing minor injuries refused transportation to hospital. At 3:50 p.m. officers from the Gros Islet Fire Station responded to a motor vehicle accident at Pigeon Island. A twenty year old male fell off his scooter. He was treated by ambulance personnel for minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. At 9:53 p.m. the Dennery Fire Station responded to a physical assault at La Caye, Dennery. One male was assaulted by another male. He sustained stab wounds about his body, he was treated and transported to hospital.
The southern division reported one motor vehicle accident. One male individual fell from a motorcycle sustaining minor injuries.
For the weekend the Fire Service responded to a total of 74 ambulance calls.
