The National Emergency Management Organization, (NEMO), says it has received reports from various parts of Saint Lucia about an apparent earth tremor.
According to a NEMO official, contacted by the Times, reports were received from Forestiere, Vieux Fort, Riviere Mitan, Saltibus and Castries.
One Castries resident told the Times that “the whole place was shaking.”
The incident is reported to have occurred at about 2:33 PM today.
Just this week NEMO Director, Velda Joseph, in an interview with the Times had called on citizens to be prepared for hazards outside of tropical cyclones, citing a series of earthquakes in the region recently, including four tremors on Sunday.
