LIME has made a donation to the Entrepot Secondary School, further demonstrating its commitment to supporting youth development and sports.
The company has provided the school with volleyballs and a volleyball net, and uniforms for its basketball team.
Women’s high-jump champion and LIME brand ambassador, Levern Spencer is a former student of Entrepot Secondary.
LIME Commercial Lead, Cheryl Francis says the company is delighted to assist the school, especially in view of the important nurturing role it has played in Levern’s success as an athlete. She also commended the principal and staff for continuing to encourage their students to develop an appreciation for sports as well as academics.
“Sport is dear to the hearts of St. Lucians. The athletic prowess displayed by local greats like Levern, Jeannelle Scheper, Earl Jean and Darren Sammy, greatly defines who we are as a people. This is more than a sponsorship, it’s an investment in St. Lucia’s youth. We believe it’s important to encourage young people to develop a love for sport because it’s great for their health and character development, and it boosts their self-esteem. It’s also good for their communities and can even be a path to higher education and economic success for young sportsmen and women who are determined to excel.”
Principal of Entrepot Secondary, Mr Arthur Scott expressed his deep appreciation for the contribution from LIME and said it would go a long way in helping the school further improve its sports program.
Numerous schools have received support from LIME this year for various sports intiatives, including the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Meet and the National Primary Inter-District Track and Field Sports Meet.
