The Lucian Peoples Movement ,(LPM), this afternoon called off its planned march to protest against rising crime, unemployment and other ills facing the country.
“We have decided because of the inclement weather, we have waited as much as we could. We know the day did not start good we had rain all day long. We are expecting rain later and so we decided that it was in the best interest of what we are trying to highlight here to not have the march today,” LPM leader Therold Prudent told the Times.
Prudent said a new date would be decided upon and the people would be informed.
“It’s not a reflection on as as the LPM or me as political leader because at the end of the day we can’t do something which because of rain, people don’t want to show up,” Prudent asserted.
The protest march was scheduled to begin from the Vigie Playing this afternoon.
