The Mother of four year old Millan Jn Baptiste, who died this week at Victoria Hospital of suspected abuse, has told the Times that the Department of Human Services failed her and the youngster.
Twenty-four year old Tallicia Jn Baptiste recalled that because she did not have a stable home, the Department recommended that Millan stay with his Father and Stepmother at Grand Ravine, Dennery.
Jn Baptiste recalled that her son however, used to spend some time with her before returning to his Father.
However, she said when she saw what she believed were signs of abuse, she contacted the Department of Human Services.
“I made reports. I took out pictures reported it to Human Services and everything,” the distraught Mother explained.
She told the Times that she wanted justice for her child, and for those in whose care he was entrusted to speak the truth.
“I want them to say what happened to my child, because they keep giving different stories,” Jn Baptiste asserted.
Relatives reported that four year old Millan Jn Baptiste was admitted to Victoria Hospital on Sunday, October 4, 2015, and died on Saturday, October 10, 2015.
It is reported that the youngster had been diagnosed with a swelling in his brain, and there appeared to be marks of violence about his body, including what seemed to be a bite mark on his chest and bruises on his face and ears.
A post mortem examination has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2015.
