Castries, Saint Lucia, October 12, 2015:- Fresh from addressing government and business leaders at a Business Symposium and Innovation Forum held on October 8, 2015, in St. Kitts, the CEO of Baron Foods Limited, Mr. Ronald Ramjattan, has been invited by the European Commission to participate in an Agribusiness forum in Milan, Italy.
Mr. Ramjattan left Saint Lucia today for the event.
The October 14-15, 2015 conference has as its theme: “Agribusiness investments in partnership with farmers’ organisations in ACP countries”.
It has been organized by the European Commission, in partnership with the African Union Commission, the ACP Secretariat, the Pan African Farmers’ Organization (PAFO), the European Investment Bank, the COLEACP and the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA).
The aim of the conference is to engage stakeholders and partners to work on a common vision for agribusiness investments in ACP countries in partnership with farmers’ organisations.
Mr. Ramjattan, along with other participants, are expected to discuss the best ways to promote investments that seize the opportunities offered by regional and international trade, and how to best tackle the challenges ahead.
The Baron Foods Limited CEO will take part in the first part of the conference, the Workshops, on October 14, 2015, at NH Milano Congress Centre.
The conclusions of the Workshops will be presented at a high level political seminar on the following day at the EU pavilion at the World Expo.
The high level seminar will be web-streamed and recorded and will be available on the webpage of the conference.
Mr. Ramjattan has also been invited to the cocktail reception hosted by the European Commissioner for agriculture and rural development, Mr, Phil Hogan, on 14 October, 2015, at NH Milano Congress Centre.
