Houston, Texas – The Caribbean American Heritage Foundation of Texas (CAHFT), in collaboration with The Saint Lucia Foundation of Texas, is delighted to donate two barrels of school supplies to the students of the Soufrière region in the south of the island.
This is CAHFT’s Fourth Annual School Supplies Drive benefiting the future leaders of Saint Lucia. The barrels were shipped to the Soufrière Public Library in care of Librarian Catherine Prospere who has been a key strategic partner with CAHFT over the past four years. Last year, roughly forty (40) students benefited from the school supplies.
We are happy to announce that Ms. Prospere has indicated that over double, eighty-five (85) student will benefit from this year’s donation, which includes students in Kindergarten, Infant, Primary and Secondary Schools who live in the communities of Bouton, Fond St. Jacques, Etangs and Soufrière. The handover of the school supplies will take place at the Library on Friday October 16, 2015 at 10:00am.
The Caribbean American Heritage Foundation of Texas is a member of The United Nations Council of Organizations.
Ms. Prospere has the pulse of her community and has been instrumental in assisting CAHFT in identifying the students most in need of assistance as they strive for excellence in their education. She has shown genuine care and concern for these eager young minds and has endeavored to do whatever she can to assist them, through her partnership with CAHFT and through her own efforts, in their quest to achieve their academic goals.
The Caribbean American Heritage Foundation of Texas is forever grateful for her assistance in our Annual School Supplies Drives these many years. She has been extremely gracious and her efforts are very much appreciated. Thank you, Ms. Prospere.
