Young singers and dancers from St. Lucia are gearing up to compete in Caribbean Youth Fest, once again with support from the nation’s leading telecommunications provider,
LIME is partnering with the organisers of Youth Fest 2015 as the company continues to deliver on its promise to support programs that promote positive youth development. LIME has contributed generously to the event in previous years.
Caribbean Youth Fest is an annual competition that provides a forum to promote and develop youth music activity and talent across St. Lucia for young people aged 29 and under. It encourages them to use their musical talents to spread positive messages and values and healthy lifestyles. The event also helps to promote an awareness of the importance of giving back to one’s community and the less fortunate.
As a major sponsor of Youth Fest 2015 LIME will be contributing cash and free mobile credit towards the event and assisting the organisers with their advertising campaign.
LIME Country Manager, Geraldine Pitt says the company is extremely proud to be a sponsor of Youth Fest 2015.
“It is really exciting to see that our youths are given the opportunity to display their creative talents and be rewarded for doing so. Of the many sponsorships that we do every year, Youth Fest is definitely one of the most rewarding as we are very passionate about youth development and promoting St. Lucia’s culture,” Ms Pitt added.
Founder of Youth Fest, Omar Davis, said, “We are deeply grateful to LIME for coming on board and helping to enrich our community by supporting authentic music and giving our youth who love music, and the public something really great to look forward to.”
This year contestants will compete in a variety of genres, including gospel, dancehall, reggae, soca, rap, hip-hop, and R&B.
Auditions will commence October 10 at Whispers, Soufriere, and continue October 17 at the Vide Boutielle Cultural Club, La Clery, and on October 24, at Coastline, Vieux Fort.
