A Police Traffic Officer, identified as Constable 779 Frazier, was injured while on active duty along the Bexon Highway today, the Police Traffic Department has confirmed.
According to reports, Officer Frazier was on his Police motorcycle at the time of the incident.
A Traffic Official told the Times that according to information the Officer, who was among others conducting traffic checks, had earlier attempted to stop a vehicle which ran into him.
The officer was injured and his bike was damaged beyond repair, the official said.
It is reported that the vehicle that ran into the Traffic Officer was subsequently pursued by the other officers and stopped, whereupon one of the two occupants on board was arrested, while the driver fled.
Officer Frazier reportedly sustained minor injuries.
The incident occurred before 6:PM this evening, according to reports.
