Employers urge government to appoint a Labour Commissioner

The Saint Lucia Employers Federation, (SLEF), has called on the government to act with urgency in appointing a Labour Commissioner, claiming that for the past two weeks no one has been holding the position.

“I have called and I have been told that they were expecting a temporary appointment again for Mr. Ray Narcisse who has acted for quite some time in that capacity,” SLEF Executive Director, Joseph Alexander has said.

Alexander asserted that the appointment of a Labour Commissioner is a major issue that the government has to address.

“We cannot operate without a Labour Commissioner not even for one day, because this office is critical to the labour code,” the SLEF Executive Director declared.

Alexander said temporary appointments were not acceptable.

“Right now there are quite a number of collective bargaining agreements which can only be signed in Labour Commissioner’s presence,” he disclosed, while observing that without a Labour Commissioner, industrial matters will be at a standstill.

I do hope this joker is not anywhere for consideration. He is inept lost and does not know his role. He has brought the office in disrepute. I will be going on a social media campaign to highlight the ineptitude of this guy and make sure the moron is not selected
