Saint Lucia’s Crime Chief, Milton Desir, has expressed the gratitude of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, (RSLPF), to members of the public for the help they have given to the Police in solving homicides this year.
Desir told yesterday’s quarterly news conference of the RSLPF that of the twenty-four homicides that have occurred so far for this year, the Police have solved eleven with persons being charged and brought before the court.
“There are those we believe will be solved because the files are with the DPP and we are awaiting word on how to proceed,” the Crime Chief disclosed.
He told the news conference that the Police were working “very hard” at solving crime, but cannot do it alone.
“We have to get the information, and once the information is forthcoming we have the forensics to mesh with it,” Desir.
