Relative says teenager who was gunned down had it coming to him

Chrisy Duplessis, the cousin of teenager, Altheus Duplessis, who was gunned down last night in Coolie Town, has told the Times that several people wanted the young man’s head, as he was an incorrigible thief.

Duplessis told the Times that although ordinarily her cousin was quite a pleasant individual, he had a habit of stealing things that belonged to others.

She disclosed that as a result of his habit, the eighteen year old had in the past been stabbed in the back and on another occasion, hit with a bottle in his eye resulting in his hospitalization.

“A lot of people wanted to kill him,” Duplessis stated, adding that just recently the deceased had chopped his own grandfather as a result of a family dispute.

According to her, some family members were breathing a sign of relief that he is gone, as he has stolen things from his own mother.

Altheus Duplessis of Morne Ciseaux, Jacmel, was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant on Sunday, November 1, 2015 about 10:00 p.m. at Coolie Town, Marigot.

He was transported to the Victoria Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.

His death brings to twenty-five, the number of homicides so far for this year.
