RODNEY BAY – The Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA) has launched its newest initiative dubbed the “Tourism Industry Chef’s Club”, designed to bring together Executive and Senior Chefs from across the island.
The Chef’s Club operates under the umbrella of the SLHTA’s Food & Beverage Committee, and looks to unite the island’s culinary ambassadors through scheduled luncheons where they will address issues of significance within the tourism industry sub-sector.
CEO of the SLHTA Noorani Azeez said the Association continues to examine new and innovative ways of engaging all key players in the island’s tourism sector. The first of these luncheons took place on October 20.
“This is yet another step in the direction of bringing everyone together and getting the required input from the key players in the industry. Initiatives like these are designed to keep us ahead and in touch with the visitors who come to Saint Lucia and whom our chefs are privileged to encounter,” Azeez said.
The CEO said the SLHTA expects to gain “meaningful insights” from presenters and invited guests.
