Police confirm 56 reported rapes this year

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, RSLPF, has confirmed that were fifty-six reported cases of rape so far for the year.

According to information obtained by the Times, the two latest incidents occurred on Friday in Corinth, and on Saturday in Marchand.

In the case of the Marchand incident, the victim is reported to be so traumatized that she does not want the case to proceed as the perpetrator is said to have issued death threats.

Sources told the Times that in the Corinth incident, which occurred some time between last Friday night and Saturday morning, two individuals broke into a home and raped a female.
