Gender Relations Minister, Alvina Reynolds, has called for a conversation among men to work towards a more peaceful society, and improve the relationship between men and woman, boys and girls, and boys and older men.
Reynolds, who is also Minister of Health, made the comments in a message to mark International Men’s Day today.
Speaking against the backdrop of a recent series of reported rapes, she noted that a lot continues to happen and that there was need for action.
“We must dialogue and act,” Reynolds asserted, adding that the only persons to bring forth solutions are men themselves.
“We need to hear from men on negative behavior, their own thinking, men’s health, their economic status, the issues that confront them, parenting and custody of their children, how they are coping and what are their needs,” she said.
At the same time Reynolds paid tribute to the males in the society for the contribution they have made to the development of families, communities and the country.
