Prime Minister Attends Major Meetings in Malta and France

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Economic Affairs, Planning and Social Security, Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony left Saint Lucia for Malta on Wednesday, November 25, 2015.

In Malta, the Prime Minister will attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Under the theme of Adding Global Value, the meeting is scheduled from November 27-29. Dr. Anthony is accompanied by Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, Dr. Cadelia Ambrose.

After the Commonwealth gathering, Dr. Anthony will travel to Paris, France, for the open session of the Conference on Climate Change (COP21) from November 30. The Prime Minister is scheduled to address the Leaders’ Summit on Saint Lucia’s expectations for the Paris Climate Change Agreement, as well as represent the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) in several bilateral meetings with President Barack Obama, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and other world leaders.

Prime Minister Anthony, who is CARICOM’s Lead Head on Climate Change and Sustainable Development, will be accompanied by Minister for Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology, Senator Hon. Dr. James Fletcher.

Dr. Anthony will return to Saint Lucia on Friday, December 4, 2015.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport, Hon. Philip J. Pierre is currently the Acting Prime Minister, Minister for Finance, Economic Affairs and Social Security.

    The Prime Minister needs to stop taking all these trip and stop wasting the Government resources. He needs to remained in St.Lucia and ponder and come up with solutions to remove our Country in this Depressive state. What impact can he have on Climate change, He cannot even do anything to get St.Lucia out of that mess.

    Just another $15,000 to $20,000 spent by these two incompetents that has to be borrowed and paid back by future generations. Even as the national debt tops $2 billion and interest payments run at $100+ million annually. Compliments of 13 years of Kenny.
    Fletcher the paper pusher who accomplishes nothing but just padding his resume for his next $250,000 job at some liberal leftist institution being fed by taxpayers money.

    The question is why has the Minister of International Affairs not attended the Commonwealth Conference?
    Could it be to do with the appointment of Juffai? Has Hillaire put his nose out of joint by proceeding with the IMO appointment without his participation?
    Will the facade of unity in the SLP begin to unravel. Is the return of Hillaire a divisive factor?
