The family of 38 year old Oliver Gobat, who was murdered here in April last, have said that they are disappointed that there has not been more progress in the case.
“We would like a quicker resolution and that makes the pain even worse, the anguish; every day 18 months of anguish and it is not getting any easier. We miss him very much. He was a wonderful son,” the Mother of the deceased, Helen Gobat said.
She told reporters yesterday that the family members of the deceased are concerned to know what happened and why.
Noting that the Gobats have received “tremendous support” from Saint Lucians, Mrs. Gobat nevertheless felt that in a small community like Saint Lucia there must be an answer.
Her husband, Theo, said that the family was hopeful that with the assistance of UK investigators, there would be cooperation with local law enforcement to solve what he felt appeared to be “quite a complicated crime.”
Oliver Gobat’s body was found in his burnt our Range Rover.
He is reported to have been shot in the head.
