The General Secretary of the ruling Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP), Leo Clarke, has announced a new era of growth for this country, as the party celebrates its 65th anniversary today with a series of activities in Vieux Fort.
The activities include the SLP’s annual conference of delegates.
Clarke told the Times that the anniversary observance also coincides with fourth year of Labour’s current term in office.
“It marks the year when the IMF has clearly indicated that the country has returned to growth,” he asserted, adding that it was a historic moment and a reward for the hard work that the Labour administration has done in trying to restore order in Saint Lucia.
According to the SLP General Secretary, the SLP government has been able to restore stability and confidence to Saint Lucia.
“There is a lot to celebrate,” Clarke declared.
“For us we have seen the dawn of a new era of growth for this country beginning from now and accelerating into 2016,” he told the Times.
The SLP is celebrating its 65th anniversary under the theme: The Passion, the Pain, the Power.
