Robert Lewis questioned about quitting politics

Education Minister, Doctor Robert Lewis, has been questioned by reporters about whether he will be quitting politics.

“When the time is right you will get to know,” was his response.

Lewis, a former Teacher, recalled that when he entered politics in 2006 his former student, Journalist Clinton Reynolds, had asked why he was getting into politics.

According to the Castries South MP, his response was that he wanted to give his service in that field.

Lewis disclosed that he also told Reynolds in response to the question of how long he would be in politics, that he would serve at least two terms and then begin to reevaluate.

Pressed further by reporters on the issue, the Minister would not be drawn, but said:

“When the time is right everybody will know.”
