Shortage of swine flu vaccine

A drastic increase in the number of persons seeking the Influenza A/H1N1 vaccination has led to a shortage of the drug at several health centres across the country.

A check by the Express at health centres in West Trinidad yesterday showed they were either all out of the drug or had very limited supplies and were awaiting more supplies from the Ministry of Health.

One man even claimed that when he went to the Aranjuez Health Centre close to where he lived, he was told that because of the shortage he had to pay $100 for the vaccine.
