Castries, Saint Lucia. Setting the precedence of goodwill continues this season as co-operate Saint Lucia continue to spread joy and cheer to those who need it most. This time, Santa Claus came to town in the form of the island’s leading telecommunications provider -Digicel, media partners -Blazin 99.3 F.M. and Rhythm 95.5 F.M. and Saint Lucia’s favourite fast food chicken restaurant, Kentucky Fried Chicken.
The four joined forces in the second annual Christmas Toy Drive spearheaded by K.F.C with assistance from the Salvation Army in an effort to bring smiles on the faces of children in the community of Desruisseaux.
The citizenry as well as Partnering sponsors: Ferrands Dairy, M&C Drugstore and S&S also played a major role in the success of the K.F.C Toy Drive as many answered the call for donation of toys that were given to over 150 smiling faces by Santa Claus, Princess Elsa, Mrs. Claus and Bumble Bee at the Christmas Treat Party hosted by The Salvation Army and the Ministry of Social Transformation in the Human Research Development Centre on Friday 18th, December.
The joy of giving and spreading good cheer doesn’t end in Desruisseaux as less fortunate children from communities around the island can expect to have smiles on their faces come Christmas morning as the remaining toys will be given to children in different communities throughout the island who need them most.
