Grieving relatives want answers from VH

The grieving relatives of Joseph Herman, who died at Victoria Hospital on New Year’s day after sustaining stab wounds on Old Year’s night, want answers from the health care institution.

The relatives say they want an explanation as to how his alleged assailant, a female, managed to gain access to Herman’s ward twice.

They claim that on accessing the ward, the alleged assailant ripped off the wounded man’s oxygen mask.

As far as the relatives are concerned, that action may have resulted in Herman’s death.

One relative, a cousin, told the Times that while they pleaded unsuccessfully with Security Officials to let them in to get to see the wounded Herman, the alleged assailant was able to barge her way into the institution.

Victoria Hospital has so far not responded to the claims.

Herman was the father of two children with his girlfriend, Jacky Robert.

Robert told the Times that today was supposed to have been a day of celebration of the birthday of the youngest child, a boy who is now aged six.

According to her, the child is crying constantly and is unable to sleep.

The post mortem examination on Herman’s body was being performed this morning.

This is a load of crock! How are they able to determine the cause of death is as a result of the bandit ripping of the victim’s oxygen mask? Well, I suppose they are angry and grieving.

Any way, sorry for your loss.

Has VH ever provided answers when something bad happens? Nope. They just cover it up or make vague statements, then wait for things to die down – after their patients do, of course! Time heals all the wounds that VH doesn’t.

With all what the people are saying surely VH should have CCTV cameras. It is a major public institution. No excuse as that place always have roro. All the authorites would do now is review the tapes. It is either no cameras or if they have they useless like on Chausee Road
