A Police officer who was arrested and charged with assault yesterday, Friday, January 8, 2015, is reported to have filed a complaint against his alleged victim.
Troy Philomon of Bagatelle, Castries, was charged with two counts of assault for allegedly assaulting Ruth Edmund of Paix Bouche, Babonneau on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 about 8:33 a.m. at the Babonneau Police Station.
Philomon, a Special Police Constable, was granted bail in the sum of EC$750 on each count, with the matter being set for February 4, 2016 in the First District Court.
Well informed sources told the Times, which first broke the story about the alleged assault, that since the charges were laid Philomon made a report to the Babonneau station alleging that Edmund assaulted him.
The alleged incident is reported to have occurred as Edmund was cleaning the Babonneau station and cleaning spray fell on Philomon.
According to reports, the alleged assault occurred in the presence of a senior Police officer who intervened.
It is reported that the incident has caused outrage among some members of the Babonneau community.
