Hole found in Port of Spain prison wall

Routine patrols by officers of the Port of Spain Task Force on Saturday night resulted in an unnerving discovery for some senior officials in the Ministry of National Security as officers noticed a hole to the Port of Spain prison from the Pembroke Street boundary.

The hole was quite small and easy to miss by the unobservant eye, but, on closer examination, it becomes quite apparent.

The hole was discovered by officers about 10.45 p.m. on Saturday and a report was made to the Command Centre.
Officials from the Prison Service, Defence Force and Police Service responded to the report and the area was cordoned off for a brief period of time.
