Murder suspect, Melissa Joseph, had to be restrained by the Police today in her eagerness to proclaim her innocence to the media as she left the Gros Islet courthouse.
Joseph, who bore an injury to her forehead, asserted that she was innocent of the murder charge and claimed that she had been attacked by Joseph Herman.
She was charged with causing Herman’s death.
An eyewitness alleges that Joseph and a group of men attacked Herman on Jeremie Street on Old Year’s night.
The female murder suspect is accused of having stabbed Herman, resulting in his death the following day.
However Joseph told the media before being taken away by the Police, that Herman attacked her and she and the men who were with her retaliated.
The matter has been put down for February 11, 2016.
