Police foils burglary at Morne Fortune

On Sunday, January 10, 2016 about 3:19 a.m. police responded to a report of a burglary at the Morne Bakery in Morne Fortune, Castries.

Upon arrival, police encountered two (2) suspects who were in possession of housebreaking implements.

The police officers identified themselves and in the process of apprehending the suspects, a police officer discharged one (1) round of ammunition.

As a result, one of the suspects sustained a single gunshot wound to the left thigh.

The suspect was transported to the Victoria Hospital where he was treated and discharged.
Both suspects are in custody assisting with investigations.
