A PETITION has been launched to call on God to bring David Bowie back to life.
Tributes have been pouring in throughout this week after the Heroes hitmaker passed away on Sunday following a secret battle with cancer.
Now, almost 5,000 fans have signed an online petition which is entitled: “Say no to David Bowie dead.”
“Because I can’t believe it. God, what do you want? Money?! Take mine, but give me Bowie back,” another wrote.
A different fan shared: “I don’t want to live in a world without David Bowie!”
Following David’s death, his 25th studio album Blackstar has charged up the UK music charts proving just how much of an inspiration he was, and continues to be.
It was revealed today that the 2016 Brit Awards – set to take place next month – will dedicate a segment of their show to the legendary musician.
The likes of Mick Jagger, Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John are said to be among the names invited to play in the tribute.
Chairman of The Brit Awards Max Lousada said the “extraordinary life and work [of] one of our greatest icons” would be honoured at the show, held at London’s O2 arena.
He said: “David Bowie was one of the most important and influential songwriters and performers ever and, like so many fans around the world, we’re devastated to hear of his loss.
“A visionary and ground-breaking pioneer, he has inspired generations of musicians and will continue to shape music for many years to come.
“Naturally, we wish to honour his extraordinary life and work at the forthcoming Brit Awards and pay a fitting tribute to one of our greatest icons.”
A memorial concert has also been planned in David’s honour in New York’s Carnegie Hall in March.
