Labour Commissioner intervenes in CSA dispute

Once again the Labour Commissioner has directed the General Secretary of the St. Lucia Civil Service Association (CSA) to convene the Extra-Ordinary General Meeting pursuant to Section 6.9 (i) of the Constitution, which was requested via a petition in excess of 500 CSA members last May, 2015.

This is the second Order to be issued to the General Secretary  subsequent to a hearing attended by the parties (i.e.) the Save Our Union Team and the C.S.A National Executive Committee, both  parties agreed that the meeting had to be convened since all the requirements of the CSA Constitution were met.

Notice for the Extra Ordinary General Meeting should be issued no later than January 22, 2016 and the meeting must be held within twenty one (21) days of the date of the notice.

The Save Our Union (CSA) Team is hopeful that good sense will prevail and that the National Executive Committee of the CSA will respect the wishes of its members and convene this long awaited meeting so that the membership can decide the future of their Organization.

Members remember “United we Stand Divided we fall”.
