“Lucky” find leads to vicious attack

A “lucky” find near the Bexon bus stand on Monday, apparently led to a savage attack on the finder yesterday.

According to Jason Pierre’s version of events, on Monday he noticed a bag at the side of the road and inquired of persons in the vicinity who the owner was.

Pierre, 37, told the Times that having been assured that it belonged to no one there and being encouraged to take it, he left with the item.

He recalled that his own bag was in tatters, so he disposed of it.

He disclosed that on the following day, Tuesday, he was walking in Castries with his new found property when he felt someone pulling the bag off his back.

Pierre said the man then proceeded to attack him with a broken bottle, leaving severe wounds on his arm and finger.

The Bexon resident told the Times that he spent an entire night in hospital as a result of the attack by an individual whom he felt he would recognize again.

If it is not yours, you simply leave it or bring it to the police station.
