TORONTO (January 19, 2016) – The Saint Lucia Tourist Board kicked off 2016 with a bang, participating in one of the most sought after wedding shows of the season, showcasing everything that is romantic about Saint Lucia.
Partnering with the WedLuxe Wedding Show – hailed as one of the best, most luxurious wedding shows in the world – guests were treated to the Saint Lucia Sweet Life Cocoa Bar, an interactive area where newly engaged partners and their guests sampled delicious cocoa treats inspired by Saint Lucia.
Visitors also had the opportunity to win luxury gift baskets and the ultimate prize of a honeymoon in paradise at the Ladera Resort, in the World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination, Saint Lucia. This is the second year in a row Ladera Resort has partnered with the Saint Lucia Tourist Board at the WedLuxe show. A fitting grand prize as the Caribbean Tourism Organization has officially declared 2016 to be ‘The Year of Romance in the Caribbean’. More than 300 entries were received and those that entered will be invited to attend a private information evening with the Saint Lucia Tourist Board and partner New Wave Travel for destination weddings and honeymoons.
“This was our first year participating in the WedLuxe show as an experiential partner and we were impressed with the quality and calibre of the event,” said Alison Theodore, Regional Marketing Manager for the Saint Lucia Tourist Board. “Our Sweet Life Cocoa Bar was one of the most popular attractions and the Instagram and honeymoon contests were well received. It was a successful event and fun for all involved.”
The wedding show, now in its sixth year, took place on Sunday, January 10 in Toronto, Canada. The event is invitation only to suppliers and welcomed 2000 visitors this year. The Saint Lucia Tourist Board will be participating in numerous other wedding shows this year.
