Acting Commissioner of Police, Errol Alexander, has disclosed that he is looking forward to the confirmation of acting appointments in the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), this year.
He revealed during the MBC television programme – Police Insight last night that some ninety-five percent of the top brass of the force constitute appointments.
“I would like to see these people get confirmed so that they have more confidence moving forward and enforcing the policies of the force,” Alexander explained.
It was not the first time that the acting Police Chief had expressed concern about the issue.
During an address at the end of a training course for senior constables last month, Alexander had suggested that confidence and stability in the force were being undermined by the number of acting appointments.
During the MBC television programme last night, he also expressed the hope that in addition to confirmations of acting appointments, this year would also bring settlement to the issues relating to the IMPACS investigation.
