Over two hundred (200) technical, clerical, sales agents and porters employed with Unicomer Courts St. Lucia Ltd will benefit from a new Industrial Accord negotiated by the Company and the National Workers Union.
The new industrial package provides for a nine (9) percent general wage increase spread over a three (3) year duration; 4% in year 1, 3% in year 2 and 2% in year 3. Back pay will be paid for a nine (9) month period.
The employees will also enjoy an upward movement of fringe benefits which includes a length of service premium. Management has undertaken to implement some of the provisions as soon as possible and every effort will be made by the parties to sign the Industrial Agreement in about two (2) weeks time.
The NWU has described the Industrial Pact as a true Independence gift for Courts employees.
