Soufriere MP, Harold Dalsan, has urged attendees at ruling Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) rally, to reelect the party based on its achievements in government.
He was addressing today’s official launch of the SLP’s Dennery South Candidate, Jerome Gedeon on the grounds of the Dennery Primary school.
Dalsan asked the crowd:
“Are you better off under the Saint Lucia Labour Party than under the United Workers Party?”
He outlined a number of achievements of the ruling party in government, including the NICE programme, STEP, and financial support for the families of disabled persons and indigent citizens.
Harold Dalsan, who is also Minister of Social Transformation and Local Government, admitted however that all was not well.
“We have too many young people who are unemployed and to the young people I want to say to you, you are more likely to get a job under the SLP than under the UWP,” he declared.
He said that in the last quarter Saint Lucia created five thousand jobs.
But Dalsan lamented that “the people in the media” do not want to report the achievement, and when they do they “spin it.”
