Post mortem today on Canadian hiker

A post mortem examination is scheduled for later today, Tuesday, March 8, 2016, on deceased Canadian national, Christopher Diachuk, who succumbed during a hike to the summit of Gros Piton.

According to information, Diachuk died while on Gros Piton while in the company of a tour guide from Soufriere.

The Soufriere Regional Development Foundation (SRDF) has said that it did not organize the trip.

The SRDF has also said that it has warned visitors about “back door” expeditions to the mountain summit.

The Canadian national, who is sixty-eight years old, was the occupant of a yacht which was anchored in the Soufriere Bay, reliable sources have told the Times.

He was transported to the Soufriere Hospital and was pronounced dead at 7:20 PM by a Medical Doctor.

The incident occurred on Saturday.
