Water damage at the Statistical Office today resulted in the staff being sent home.
Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Planning and National Development, John Calixte, told the Times that the proprietor of the Micoud Street building where the Statistical Office is located, was taking care of the situation.
However Calixte disclosed that it may be until next week that employees of the office would go back to work.
He explained that the proprietor had been undertaking some work on the building, with the result that last night when it rained water came through the roof, wet the floor and damaged equipment on the first floor of the building.
“We are trying to resolve the situation as quickly as possible,” the Deputy PS told the Times.
