Police want help in tracking the movements of a vehicle which the perpetrators of the Vieux Fort murder on Saturday used after killing one of the occupants.
A top police official told the Times that the two door pickup, TJ8944, was recovered this afternoon at Babonneau where murder victim, Francis Cyrillien, lived.
The pickup has been processed by law enforcers for clues to the Vieux Fort murder, but investigators have not disclosed what they have found so far.
The police have appealed to members of the public who may have seen the vehicle on the road after about 4:00 PM on Saturday between Vieux Fort and Babonneau, to contact the nearest police station.
Fifty-two year old Francis Cyrillien was hacked to death when two masked bandits, one of whom was armed with a cutlass and the other with a knife, forced themselves into a Servitech vehicle in which he and a female companion were sitting having a chat at Bois Chadon, Vieux Fort.
The men forced Cyrillien to drive into a wooded area near the Bois Chadon beach where he was killed.
The women, whom the bandits forced to strip naked, was slightly injured.
Both were tied up by the armed men who drove away with the vehicle.
The woman managed to free herself after about four hours and, with the help of a taxi driver who responded to her cries for help and gave her a tee shirt to put on, contacted the police and led them to the scene.
The woman was later taken to hospital.
