French national, Eric Sommer, who was charged with causing the death of a local, has been sentenced to the time served in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter.
Sommer was charged with murder in the May 12, 2012 death of Lucas Francois at Pigeon Island.
It is alleged that the Frenchman pushed Francois off a boat and refused to assist him when he asked for help.
Eric Sommer had spent over four years in jail.
He was sentenced today by Justice Margaret Price-Findlay, after the Prosecution accepted the lesser plea.
Sommer is now a free man, but with a manslaughter conviction.
His continued detention had been a source of concern for the French Embassy here.
