SLP accuses Dominic Fedee of disrespect

The Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) is appalled by the behavior of Dominic Fedee, United Workers Party (UWP) candidate for Anse La-Raye/Canaries, during a recent appearance on Newsspin on Radio Caribbean International (RCI).

It is distasteful that Fedee would consistently interrupt and speak over the Public Relations Manager of the Saint Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB), John Emmanuel, in an effort to silence Emmanuel’s corrections and clarification on Saint Lucia’s performance in tourism.

His comments that Emmanuel was “making a fool” of himself and should “learn some manners”, despite Emmanuel’s calm and respectful interjections reeks of arrogance and disrespect.

Certainly, this is not the behavior expected of politicians who claim to have an interest in working with people to improve the country. What was on display by Fedee was an extension of Allen Chastanet’s ego.

It is now clear why Chastanet has named Fedee his protégé. Apart from thinking they are above correction, both Chastanet and Fedee have resorted to disrespect, untruths and manipulation to present arguments.
