Pub hit by burglars

A pub under the CDC apartment buildings on Jeremie Street was targeted by burglars some time between last night and this morning.

The intruders appeared to have forced their way into the business place through a back door and made off with a 55 inch plasma television screen, a number of bottles of liquor and an undisclosed sum of cash.

Marcellus Thomas, the brother of owner, Felicia Placide, told the Times that the burglary had set the business back somewhat, as the burglars left the liquor shelf practically empty.

He also said that the Haze Pub had the largest TV screen among the other pubs under the CDC buildings which served as an attraction for customers, especially now that T20 cricket is underway.
