Declaring that the people of Canaries have suffered and been neglected for too long, the Anse La Raye/Canaries candidate of the opposition United Workers Party (UWP), Dominic Fedee has asserted :” We are ready for elections!”
“The time has come to say to them that enough is enough,” Fedee told a political meeting of the UWP last night.
The UWP candidate said:
“When people say to me that Anse La Raye/Canaries is the poorest constituency, I say to them ‘you are wrong, because if the people of Anse La Raye and Canaries were given the same opportunity, if they were given the same level of investment, is they were given the same level of attention, then we would have seen more progress’”.
Fedee declared that the residents of Anse La Raye/Canaries are not the poorest, but the forgotten people.
He said that wrong must be righted.
Fedee called on the incumbent MP for the area, Doctor Desmond “Pep” Long, to return every cent he was paid.
“We want our money back,” he said, adding that the “forgotten constituency” must return to its glory days.
Fedee explained that with the plans and policies of the UWP, the constituency’s neglect by the ruling labour party will be replaced by prosperity.
“Change is coming,” the UWP candidate told opposition supporters.
He said that the politics of neglect must be replaced by the politics of compassion and empowerment of the people.
According to Fedee, the labour party’s failed policies have resulted in hardship for the people throughout the constituency of Anse La Raye/Canaries.
He declared that the people deserve better.
“I don’t believe that you should vote for me because you know me, but you should vote for me because you believe in my plans and you believe that I can deliver,” Fedee told UWP supporters.
He told them if they voted for him, together they could transform the constituency.
