Political Leader of the Saint Lucia Labour Party, Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony announced at the Launching of the SLP’s candidate for Castries South East on Sunday, that Guibion Ferdinand is the SLP’s candidate for Micoud South. Guibion who was born and has resided in Desruisseaux all his life is the Former Principal of the Micoud Secondary School, a community activist, sports enthusiast and educator.
He began his teaching career at the Blanchard Combined School in 1990 and taught there for a period of ten years. Thereafter, Ferdinand moved to the Vieux-Fort Technical Secondary School in 2003 and later the Micoud Secondary School in 2004. Ferdinand served as the Principal of the Micoud Secondary School from 2006 to March 2016.
The forty two year old father of three is holds a Bachelor of Education (Hons) Degree in Educational Administration from the University of the West Indies as well as an Executive Diploma in School Management from the Institute of Business in Trinidad and Tobago. Ferdinand is a qualified teacher and attained his certificate from the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College.
Having served in various capacities in Youth and Sports Organizations, Ferdinand is very well know within the Micoud South Constituency and nationally. He was a FIFA Regional Instructor in Administration and Management and holds a Futuro III Certificate in Administration and Management (FIFA) and a level one certificate in coaching (Cricket).
Guibion has lived a life of service to his community, constituency and country. He is known and admired for his active role in the Desruisseaux Catholic Church, his role as President of the Fire Strikers Sports Club, the Desruisseaux Youth and Sports Council, as well as his contribution as Chairman of the Desruisseaux Development Committee and the Desruisseaux Football League. A number of projects and initiatives are credited to the leadership, inspiration and involvement of Mr. Guibion Ferdinand.
The Saint Lucia Labour Party is confident that the people of Micoud South have found a champion, in Guibion Ferdinand.
