PIGEON ISLAND – Sandals Grande Saint Lucian Spa and Beach Resort has received the Sandals Resorts International (SRI) Aqua Center Directors highest honor, making it the first Sandals resort in the Eastern Caribbean Region to be recognized at this level.
General Manager Winston Anderson joined hands with his on-property Aqua Center Manager Terroll Compton in accepting the prestigious honors.
The property was recognized for its outstanding record in consistency as it relates to audit reports, accomplishments in consistent best practices in the area of water activity management and overall outstanding guest feedback on service and team support.
Added to this, the Sandals Grande Aqua Centers’ Scuba diving instructors have also received top honours from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) – the world renowned authority on scuba diving. Just last November, Senior Lifeguard attached to the property, Vanessa Eugene, represented Saint Lucia in a World Conference on Drowning Prevention in Penang, Malaysia.
“This shows the level of safety and commitment from a well-rounded team and department. Terroll has done an exceptional job in managing the department for the past four years and we commend him and his team for the outstanding recognition they have brought to the property and Sandals Resorts in general,” said General Manager Winston Anderson.
His comments echo those of Regional Director for Sandals Resorts International – Eastern Caribbean, Andre Dhanpaul as well as Regional Aqua Center Manager Wyndel John.
Compton credits good team work, understanding and consistence, as the main factors paving the way for his department and property’s award-winning standings.
“Out of all 23 Properties of the Sandals and Beaches chain, we at Sandals Grande St. Lucian cannot be more proud of this accomplishment. Not only is the scuba team well trained but the entire team at Sandals Grande St. Lucian Aqua Center are instructors who are associated and trained to the standards of the American Sailing Association, USA Ski instructors and the St. Lucian Life Saving Association,” said Terroll Compton, Aqua Center Manager at Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort.
He added that his department has also been awarded Top Revenue Performer for all Sandals Resorts Aqua Centers in the Eastern Caribbean.
“Being consistent at it is the key. The Pool Attendants are talents who also deserve recognition since they too work very hard and continue to play a very important part in the department receiving the overall Award,” Compton added.
