Choiseul school designs to be discussed

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport in collaboration with the Project Coordinating Unit of the Department of Planning and National Development will host a Stakeholders/Community Meeting at the Choiseul Secondary School on Saturday April 16th 2016, starting at 3:00 pm.

The meeting is to present the designs for the New Choiseul Secondary School Block B and C.

In June 2011, the findings of a structural analysis recommended that Blocks B and C of the Choiseul Secondary School be replaced due to structural capacity.

Since then, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Port Service and Transport, Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development and the Department of Planning and National Development have engaged consultants to develop appropriate designs and have also held discussions with stakeholders.

Invitation for Bids for the construction for the Choiseul Secondary School Block B and C was advertised in December of 2015. The construction of the (2) new three (3) story buildings will accommodate 12 classrooms, Sickbay with toilet facilities, Resource Room, Technical Drawing Room, Students Washrooms, Information Technology Lab, Electronic Document Preparation and Management Laboratory, Physics and Chemistry Laboratories with prep room, Music and Theatre Room.  

The total construction area is approximately 34,330.95 sq. ft.

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport invites parents, teachers and residents of Choiseul community and neighboring communities to the meeting. Personnel from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport, Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development and Labour and Department of Planning will be present to answer to any concerns or queries you may have.
