Alleged plot to blow up Virgin Islands airports

TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands, Thursday April 14, 2016 – Police in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), with assistance from the United States Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), are investigating reports of a plan to blow up airports across the Virgin Islands.

Governor John Duncan said this afternoon he was aware of the reports circulating on social media about the possibility of a terrorist attack at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport – formerly the Beef Island Airport – tomorrow, and officials were meeting to determine the appropriate course of action.

The threat was reportedly brought to the attention of the US Coast Guard Sector San Juan Command Center yesterday, according to BVI News.
